26 Photos From My ‘Invisible Jumpers’ Series That Took 5 Years And Thousands Of Hours Of Knitting
Photographer Joseph Ford and expert in “camouflage” knitting Nina Dodd have put in more hours than is practical designing custom jumpers (for people, dogs, and even bananas) that look like they belong in places like bus seats, shrubs, carpets, and coastlines.
“I love the challenge of finding graphic locations, picking models who will fit well into them and then working with Nina’s knitting skills to blend them as seamlessly as possible,” Ford told The Independent. Each of these pictures has taken me several days or weeks to research and plan, and Nina has spent weeks and sometimes months knitting for each one.
This entertaining series is now available in a new book from Hoxton Mini Press, a popular independent publisher. With photographs showing twenty-five knitted things, tales, and behind-the-scenes pictures, it even has an introduction written by renowned writer and gallerist Laura Noble. Dare we say it, one to put on the wish list for Christmas gifts?
